"And God said, "Let the waters bring forth swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the firmament of the heavens." So God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth." And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day." (Genesis 1:20-23 RSV)

Sometimes

Sometimes I am like a fallen baby sparrow
and at others times I am like a soaring silver winged seagull
while still another time I can feel like a proud eagle observing from my stand
Then there are times I am as nervous as a worried chickadee
or spiritually inspired like a hummingbird

 watchful as a hawk

possessive like a discerning crow

and in wait like a thirsting vulture

but I always come home to the dove!

It isn't always so much in the flight as it is in the landing.

Today I will stretch my wings from tip to tip and see where this new dawn takes me!
